International Dribbles and Hoops

Image
Sorry for delays in posting, but we’ve had some busy weeks and the end of the year approaches quickly.  On top of that, the weather has been great and so we’ve been doing more on weekends and I’ve been out and walking and doing during the week again.   The big news and event was International Day at school.  Each class is assigned a country and the decorate the classrooms based on that country.  Then, they have info and a performance or dance based on that country.  Sorry none of Kiddo, but the faces of her classmates were clearly visible in all, so take my word for it that it was amazing.  If you want to see, email or message me privately and I will pass that along for you to see.  I don’t want to post other kids on a public blog though.  Safety and being considerate and all that.  But, the dancing is GREAT!  Kiddo just nails it and she’s (imho) cute as a button doing it.  The class country was Puerto Rico.  Kiddo learned a...

Chalk it up to bubbles

It was a nice Mother’s Day weekend for us.  It was lazyish and playful.  J got Kiddo some sidewalk chalk and bubbles, so there was some outside time and playing, but it also attracted the attention of some of the kids in the area and so Kiddo had some playmates.  I was on errands and cooking, but I was told that the kids playing ranged from some little ones ups to some of J’s 5th graders.  Chalk and bubbles… a hit for all ages.  We also had a day out and did lunch.  I then went to the grocery and the girls headed to the library to return and get some new books.  Kiddo was in her Kid Glory just chatting J up as they went. I’ve just been adjusting to the bifocals.  It’s weird.  I can see clearly, but if I look quickly or have my head at a weird angle, it’s dizzying, because the lens shift.  I’m getting used to it, slowly, but it’s been an adjustment.  It is nice to be able to see far and near however. Today, I’m at a new cafe that...

Double Focused

We just had Labor Day here and so the girls had a 5 day weekend.  It was nice to have a little time off, you could see them both decompress a bit; especially as we get toward the end of the year.  They both needed a little time to just not.  We also were able to get some errands done.  J and I needed to see an optometrist to get our glasses updated.  J’s eyes didn’t change at all, but she did get a new RX and new frames, so that’s a plus.  For me…. Sigh! 47 and it’s time for the bifocals.   So, I guess I’m officially old now.  There was much teasing from the girls, but it was good natured.  Also, it’s not like I didn’t know it was coming.  It’s just one of those things.  I do have to say, I can’t wait for my glasses to be ready.  It’ll be some nice to read and look up and not have to take my glasses on and off to see whatever it is that I’m trying to focus on.  As for my frames, pics will come once glasses received. ...
