Five months of effort

Passport to excitement.

Excitement is building. In 24 hours, we will be either really close or just arriving at the airport for our flight to Shenzhen (SZ) China.  We (J and I) are excited to see the city, experience China, try local food, and meet up with friends from last year at BASIS BKK, and scout the city as it might be a job location for us.  Certainly China is in the running.  The pay and cost of living are great for us and with J transitioning to Leadership, it could really set us up on a career path of really really good paying jobs in places we would want to live and want Kiddo to experience. I normally sit to write and I write about what we have been doing, the adventures we’ve been on, or the stuff we do.  There’s climbing, farms, cafes, adventures galore.  Maybe we ate somewhere cool or tried a new local dish.  Sometimes it’s some oddity we saw.  On occasion, it’s something cool and unique.  That doesn’t even get into the holidays, celebrations, or cultural events that happen as well. More dental work for me this week.  The tooth that I had a root canal in Vietnam is aching again and I went to the dentist here and the filling had come out.  They want me to see the endodontist to make sure that all is well.  So, a temp filling is in it, but it’s still hard to chew and eat normally.  Tuesday, I’ll have that done.  That just leaves the next two days to figure out. The good news is, I LOVE making soup and we had all we needed in house, so soup it is.  I’m not doing anything gourmet or hardcore.  Made a mirepoix and had stock in the freezer, added some chicken and potatoes to go with veggies.  J and Kiddo are out and at the mall, so they can get to Tops and get a loaf of bread to have with it.  Simple.  Easy.  Most importantly, however, easy to eat.  At least for me.  Yesterday we did pork chops and mashed potatoes, so that was easy enough.  It does bite having more tooth problems.   See what I d...
