Lets Go Kiddo

The weather for the last week has been absolutely astounding.  Just perfect.  It has been 25-27 degrees (76-81F) pretty much daily for the last week.  The only problem is that today it’s supposed to be 32.5 (91F) and tomorrow the forecast calls for 18 and rain (64F).  A huge swing.  Then, we get a week of that before more wonderful spring time weather.  It’s better (IMHO) than the hot, hotter, or raining and hot of BKK.  So, I’ll look on the bright side. More bright side is that we mourned the fish, but we replaced them with two turtles.  Driving home with them, one was super active and trying to climb out of the bag and the other was docile and chilling.  The climber was named Everest and the chill one got named Granite.  They seem happy enough and Kiddo is loving having something a little more active and interactive than fish.  Not that she’s taking them out on walks or anything, but they will move, chill in the water, love the ...

Last blog, I mentioned that Kiddo had Spirit Week at school.  I got pics from PJ Day and Crazy Hair day.  Hope y’all enjoy! There is some bad news as well.  The fish friends didn’t survive.  It was no fault of Kiddo.  She was great with them.  After a tank cleaning though, all the fish went belly up.  I helped her clean.  We didn’t use chemicals.  We rinsed out the rocks and gravel.  We cleaned the filters.  We added water and got the filters and things running.  We let the heater run to get the water to temp, but after transferring back, they didn’t survive.  Kiddo was heartbroken.  In all honesty, so was I in a small way.  Fish are hard though, as Kiddo was hoping for something a bit more interactive.  Since we have an aquarium and are 90% of the way there, we settled on turtles.  Two little box turtles will be coming into our lives.  Easy to care for.  Quite.  They can live in the aq...

We’ve made it through winter and spring is in the air.  Mostly, that means it’s rainy and damp, but we’ve had some nice weather as well.  The weekend before last is was 27ish all weekend (81-83F) and we took some time to take advantage of the weather.  As you can see, Kiddo was in her element and just having a ball.  We also did the library and a few other things as the weather was nice.   Since then we’ve gotten rain and misty weather (think Seattle) and that’s been fine as well since temps have ben 12-19 degrees (55-68ish F) and it’s not exactly shorts and teeshirt weather, but not cold either.  We’ve still gotten out and had some fun, getting to do some drum practice, having soup dumplings, and generally just having a time of it. The real big news is that it is International Week at school.  Yesterday was Career Day, so Kiddo dressed as a vet (sorry, no pics) and today is Jammies Day, so Kiddo got to pick some jammies to rock all day.  She i...
