While I'm reminiscing on Hanoi and doing that write up, I thought you all might like a Kiddo Vlog. Enjoy and Hanoi coming.
Weird day after Christmas here. The girls only had the one day off. They will get 4 weeks for Chinese New Years and a week of half days leading up to that, but it’s strange having the house to myself and have so much quiet the day after Christmas. Not that I’m complaining. I’ve got a desk to build today, as Kiddo really wanted a desk and chair for Xmas and she got one. On top of that she got a bunch of books and some new soft friends to cuddle with… Including a cat. That’ll pretty much complete her collection, but I’m sure we’ll learn of new friends needed/wanted in the days and weeks to come. Also, she has asked for a pet fish and has done well to keep her room tidy and show responsibility over the last 6 weeks, so come CNY break, she will get getting a pet fish as well. So, there’s that. On the 24th, SMIC had their Xmas concert and Kiddo hated it, but rocked it. She was NOT looking forward to the outfit, to song, the dance… a...
The weather for the last week has been absolutely astounding. Just perfect. It has been 25-27 degrees (76-81F) pretty much daily for the last week. The only problem is that today it’s supposed to be 32.5 (91F) and tomorrow the forecast calls for 18 and rain (64F). A huge swing. Then, we get a week of that before more wonderful spring time weather. It’s better (IMHO) than the hot, hotter, or raining and hot of BKK. So, I’ll look on the bright side. More bright side is that we mourned the fish, but we replaced them with two turtles. Driving home with them, one was super active and trying to climb out of the bag and the other was docile and chilling. The climber was named Everest and the chill one got named Granite. They seem happy enough and Kiddo is loving having something a little more active and interactive than fish. Not that she’s taking them out on walks or anything, but they will move, chill in the water, love the ...
I’d written some things that I thought I would be able to post, but there was a tech problem. I won’t get much into it, but the short of the long is this- Got new tech, transfer of info didn’t work and needed to scrabble to solve that. Finally, after a week of efforting, that was completed. However, due to the last three years being in Thailand, my 2-Factor authentication can’t work, as it is tied to the BKK mobile number. I have it all unlocked, but it will take a few days until I can post vids. It’s been a whirlwind of a week and a half. We’ve been approx 50 hours traveling and in airports. We are in our third city, have traveled through 6 airports, and are 12 hours outside of the timezone we are used to being in. I’ll be posting a bunch of pics below, but I’m also wanted to catch up a little. LA- Was great. For a city I (generally speaking) don’t much care for, we had a blast and got a see a bunch. The California Sci...
