J is almost done and our summer travels are almost here, but until then it’s just hanging out and getting there.   Kiddo, for her part, is doing a club.   It’s the cooking club.   She’s been enjoying it (mostly) so far, but it’s a wide range of kids from 1st to 5th grades.   That’s not the problem…. The problem is that it’s very basic and also geared for kids, so they are given plastic knifes and most of the food is premade and it’s more a “food assembly” club.   The good parts are that H is in the club with her, so she get a whole week with her Bestie.   She’s made a new friend as well and (it’s 9 year old vague right now) she is going to be in the forensic club next week.   Lastly, it might be more assembly and plastic knives, but Kiddo has ideas and is suddenly very interested in cooking and helping me in the meal prep and planning.   All in all, I’d call it a plus. It was supposed to end with a trip to a cake makers and getting to make cakes a...

For all wondering about the bike lock situation from the last post….   Kiddo has an update for you! So, there was that.   Otherwise, we are on the last full day of school.   Tomorrow thru next Tuesday are half days.   That means no more making lunches to take, instead I get to have lunch with the Kiddo.   Big plus for me.   Not that I mind making lunch, but it’ll be nice to have a lunch buddy at home.   Then, after 3 days and a weekend off, Kiddo will do her week long cooking class.   She’s excited for it and has been helping me cook more, including asking if she can help with flipping hot foods soon.   I offered it once, but she was kind of scared to do it, so she just watched.   The day is coming, though. After that, she’ll do a forensic class, about blood types, DNA, and fingerprints and the like.   She’s excited for that as well and interested to learn about blood types and DNA, plus learning how to fingerprint and what goes int...

It was a weekend of getting back to things.   I could resume my walks, so I’m back on that and it was nice to have J and Kiddo along for the walk.   We have a loop we do and I’ve been exploring, so I found a bigger loop on a similar, but slightly different route.   It was nice to get in a 2 mile walk.   We got produce and fruit and lunch on the way as well, so it was a good walk and knocked out some errands as well. The real fun from the weekend was J and Kiddo going out to the sandpit on Sunday afternoon.   We started the day doing a Costco run, which was nice, since J could help with the heavy lifting, since I’m still on a lift and weight restriction, not more than 4kg.   The docs want to make sure the artery heals completely before putting too much stress on the area.   I get it, as I don’t want an arterial bleed… especially on blood thinners.   One bummer on that, but I’ll get there.   Anyways, the ladies went to the sandpit and I was at ...
