Days of Play

It’s been a wild weekend.

J had an International Teacher Job Fair and that was great.  She got a lot of good contacts and touched base with some good schools.  Some of the schools, J found out, don’t take walk up applicants and are by invite only.  J was invited to apply to a number of these jobs.  Super impressive and I can’t tell you how proud I am of her and her passion for teaching.  I think it shows.  Also, her reputation and letters of rec proceed her and those speak volumes as well.

The one bad part was that she was told that applying to Vietnamese schools (HCM is our top choice city right now) will be impossible for her, unless she has a Masters Degree or some very specific certs and qualifications.  Since she doesn’t have those (Masters in progress), that looks like it will have to wait until we look for our next job.

As for Kiddo… Between all of that, we’ve been having some fun with her.  J took her to the roof the other day for some scooter racing and Tatianna Training (Don’t ask me why her invisible race partner is named Tatianna) and they also had some pool time.  Of course, we’ve had a bunch of at home play and things like that as well.

On Friday, J had an interview in the afternoon (went well) but we had Nanny Beer that day and didn’t want Kiddo to get overly rambunctious with J interviewing, so Beer and Kiddo went out to a little farm/cafe that is near us.  Kiddo wanted Beer to take some goofy pics of her.  Yup, that’s Kiddo!!!!!

As for me, I’ve been having some Kiddo time with J being busy.  We got to the mall the other day for the Pet Expo.  It was packed, so it was impossible to get pics, but Kiddo ohhhhh’d and ahhhhhhh’d and sooooooooo cccccuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttte at the Bunnies and other fluffy creatures that were there.  We saw some parrots and I got facts and details on those, since Kiddo is an encyclopedia of facts and fun.

We did stop and get some ice cream.  Not just ice cream, however.  Gelato.  Again, Kiddo point and fact.  It’s not ICE CREAM Dada, it’s Gelato.  It’s creamier and yummier.  Gel. Ah. Toe!!!!!  I repeated it and was told that I did such a good job that I could have a bit of her Gelato if I wanted.  I can’t tell you how much I love her… and yet, a small piece of me just wanted to fling her off the 3rd floor of the mall with her Gel. Ah. Toe.  This girl and her attitude sometimes.  Not even attitude… it’s just ‘Tude!  KIDDO!!!!!!!!!!

I did get to learn the secrets of Ranzan magic and I got a peak behind the curtain of changing tennis balls to fruit for Ratchet and Rivet, since Lombaxes love Fluff Fruit.

Tomorrow, back to school and back to the routine.  Only difference is that J has interviews every day this week.  So, she will be well practiced in interviewing by the end of the week.  Also, we should start getting traction soon and have some more info and leads on where we may end up.  Not that we’ll have a job by the end of the week, but we should have a clearer picture and know where and how we are leaning.

Let’s go, Kiddo… It’s almost back to school, it’ll be a busy and fun week, and me and Mumma might have some clearer ideas on what next year will hold.  We can’t wait to talk to you about that and start planning our future.  Family hug and loves.
