Heat, weeds, and summer plans

This last Saturday was an odd day.  It was hot and humid.  Overcast and looking like rain.  We got some sprinkles off and on during the day, but no real rain.  We’ve had rain 4 times so far this year.  Before Saturday, all the rain we got was a brief night shower, but nothing sustained.  It is hot and humid.  Uncomfortably so.  The rains will come, we have no worry of that.  However, we do wonder if this is just storing it all up for a torrential torrent of rain once the rainy season starts.

Slow moving and stay in shade.  We are getting some good sun umbrellas, time to upgrade that and maybe get a rain poncho for Kiddo since it will be rainy before she’s done for the year.  Other than that, we are crushing water and gatorade these days.  

Today, forecasts say 40ish degrees C (103-105F) and as I write this at 10:30am, it’s already 35.5C (96F) so it’s gonna be a HOT day.  Thankfully, I pick up Kiddo today from school and her and I can have some pool time and fruit.  As for the weekend, the pool will be a constant, I’m sure.  Kiddo already has Mumma plans for the pool tomorrow.

As for Kiddo, she’s not only older, but she is growing like a weed.  Look at this!

That a little more than 60 days.  I couldn’t get a houseplant to grow that much in 60 days and Kiddo is just shooting up.  Hell, I couldn’t get a weed to grow that much in 60 days.  At the rate she’s going, Kiddo is gonna be taller than me by her next birthday.  Good lawd, child!

Outside of that, J and I will be sitting down this weekend and planning out days and locations for our summer vacation.  Vietnam, we know that much.  Hanoi, HCM, and then somewhere in the middle.  Hoi An or Da Nang are in the mix.  Halong Bay as well.  So, we’ve got some planning and the like to do.  Travel North to South or vice versa.  How long in each location.  Kiddo is starting to get hyped for that as well.  Especially since it’s a 90 min flight.  Her little mind was blown.  The last time she went to another country, it took 25 hours.  She’s looking at it like, I get on a plan, mumma and dada give me some munchies and the iPad for some shows or a movie and then I get to see a whole new country.  I’m IN!  Besides that, J is hyped.  I think that trip will help solidify in her mind that she is a wold traveler.  As for me, I keep it way back in my mind.  Way way back.  Because otherwise I might just leave today and see J and Kiddo once they finally catch up.  HAHA.  Yeah, I’m excited.  Gonna be a blast.

Let’s go, Kiddo…. We’ve got the pool today, a weekend tomorrow, and a summer trip coming.  And in 19 weeks, you’ll be a 1st grader, not a Kinder or Early Year student anymore.  A first grader!!!!  Oh, and thanks for reading me the paragraph in your chapter book last night.  You read really good!
