Lets Go Kiddo

I thought about looking back and pondering on the last decade.  Then, I decided not to do that.  We’ve (J and myself that is) spoken a lot this year about looking forward.  Setting our sights and eyes on what’s to come, not what has happened.   The last ten years has been… eventful.  Married, kid, sickness and surgeries, global pandemics, moving across the world.  It’s been much. However, I found someone to laugh and smile with me thru it all.  And I mean that 100%.  After our CA wedding, there was flight issues and delays.  It was stressful, but we laughed about it.  When I got sick and had my surgeries, I remember FaceTiming with J one night and she sent a pic of a potato turkey kiddo made and no matter how bad the pain was after emergency surgery on my abdomen, we still laughed over this goofy thing.  Quarantine in Bangkok during COVID and inventing Quarantinis, fresh squeezed from the box even!  It was always laughs and...

Saturday night I got a Dada Date with Kiddo and we went to McDonalds.  It was just like old times again and we just had a blast.  J left for her thing at about 13:45 and so I had the afternoon with Kiddo.  It was not the greatest afternoon; Poley started throwing up and had to be rushed to Doctor Fix-It-Up and it turns out that Poley has Diverticulitis and needed surgery.  Also, since he was also juicy tooting on top of throwing up, he needed an IV, but right into the butt.  Needless to say, by dinner we were famished. On the walk to the mall Kiddo needed to get some of her wiggles out.  So, she had a little bit of a run.  Then she had a goofy run.  I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to film her being a goof. One of the nicest things about our situation here is the health benefits.  Sure, it’s not perfect and we have our complaints (I can get Tylenol for 45 baht at any store, I don’t want to argue with cashier and pharm after the fact that I do NOT want to pay them 200 baht for the same thing), but when it comes to preventative and vaccinations, they are easy, clear, and on top of it. We’ve gotten a number of COVID vax boosters and it’s easy.  The school informs staff if Vax or boosters are available and they can just register and then they have a time slot for self and family.  All at no cost to us.  Pretty easy and convenient, in my opinion.   Yesterday, we got our updated flu shots.  Yes, flu season is now and not winter for us.  With the flu being avian based, mixed with the high heat, rainy season, standing water, bugs, etc. and it makes sense that this is the flu season and that most of the flu virus that affects the world starts in places like th...

I’ve always loved stories.  As a kid, I loved to hear stories and books, watch movies or see shows.  As I’ve grown, I came to find the stories in video games, comic books and visual (graphic) novelizations.  Even listening to an album front to back is to hear a story and if you doubt that, reach out in the comments and I can make you some suggestions.** Kiddo is the same way.  She loves to hear stories.  J reads to her most nights.  Her and I play video games and she really gets into those stories and worlds.  Before bed she has a bunch of kid podcasts that she listens to that are kids stories.  Lucy Wow.  Bobby Wonder.  And more.  She loves stories.  I hope she will come to find them in music, but she can get there when she does.   She will ask for stories and if she can’t get them or it’s rest time and she’s alone, she will invent them.  She has, more than once, written a “book” at rest time or while playing....
