Day 4 of being 6
Not much has been going on recently. We are just into the doldrums of life and the school year. That doesn’t mean it’s boring or uninteresting, just busy and routines and life and school and homework and Grade 1 and all of it.
Not that we aren’t having fun. We are. It’s just a different fun. We aren’t traveling or doing or anything like that. We are just being. Usually, by Saturday, we are just being lazy and so we spend a lot of time reconnecting, hanging out, making pancakes, and things like that. It’s actually been pretty fun, but more in a family at home way.
J and I have had our moments as well. She’s been busy with life, school, job applications, and her Masters. So, life is a little different. J will work nights, so Kiddo and I will have extra Gaming time and then J will break away for a quick goodnight to Lil Miss and then get back to work. However, when Kiddo gets up to use the bathroom, or with hot/cold problems, or with whatever 6 year old excuse she has, she’s noticed that J is working and closed off in the bedroom. Or not home. Or working on weekends. So, it’s a little discombobulating for her. So, on a Saturday evening, when J and I are hanging out and just chillin’, Kiddo gave Mumma a friend. Pengi. As you can see, J and I had some laughs with that.
Kiddo, for her part, is helping keep us sane. Usually with goofiness or riddles. And she wanted to share. Enjoy and see you in the days and weeks to come as life gives us interesting things to write about. Until then, cheers and be well.
Let’s go, Kiddo… It’s riddle time and then we can have a night of Ratchet and Clank fun.
