Sneak Peak of Book Cuddles

After the emotions and tears on Saturday, we took it easy on Sunday.  The ladies went to a little green space here that we call The Park That’s Not a Park.  It’s a… koi pond/flower grower/garden thing of sorts.  It’s tended and it has parking, but it’s not really a park.  It’s also not a community garden.  It’s just a park that’s not a park.

Kiddo has also been trying her hand at photos recently and will have some more chances this summer.  She’s taken little pics here and there and she’s getting a bit better at capturing things in frame or thinking about how to take the pic instead of just pointing and clicking.  As you can see, she’s getting better at centering and taking the whole pic.

However, she did surprise J and myself.  They were telling me about the pictures and Kiddo wanted to know if we liked the Sneak Peak picture.  In scrolling thru her shots, we notice this one.  “It’s a sneak peak of Mumma.”  Yeah, J and I have gotten some milage outta that in the last 24 hours.

Her and I talked this morning and I asked her why it was a sneak peak pic of Mumma.  “Well, Dada… Mumma is always taking sneaky pics of you and me walking or of me running and she says she got a sneaky pic or a sneak peak pic, so I wanted to take one of Mumma.”  Well, that explains that.

Other that that, the girls had a good time and burned off some energy.  They also got a bunch of cute pics.

The day, otherwise, was lazy.  We stayed around home, played, had lunch from the market and a market produce salad with some grilled chicken and rice.  It was simple, but it was good.  We’re going to miss our Market Produce; not just the food we get, but the people there also.

After dinner, J wanted to go for a climb and get some energy out.  I told her that was fine and I was on Kiddo for bed and all that.  Easy enough.  We played a bit and then watched the end of Boss Baby before bed.

Bed was fun.  Took about a half hour to just get to brushing teeth, since Kiddo heard J and I talking about me converting some baht to USD so we’d have cash in hand during our travels and as we are first getting back into LAX.  Well, post movie, Kiddo had a little cry about changing over money.  Then about school.  Friends.  Life.  Etc etc etc.  It was just hugs and love and comfort.

The standing Kiddo rule is that if one of us (or both) go out, we pop into her room for hugs and kisses if she’s still awake.  We’re at about 50/50 with her still being awake and it depends on if it’s one or both of us and also the time.  Coming home at 21-22:00 (9-10pm) and there is a fair chance she’s awake.  After 22:00 (10pm), probably more like 20%.  If it’s just one of us, after about 20:45 (8:45pm) and she’ll be asleep.

Last night, after her climb time, J got home and we caught up briefly while she washed her hands and put her climb shoes outside to air, blah blah.  Then, we creeked (haha) into her room for hugs and kisses.  She was gone.  However, her blankets were in a weird shape and position.  We couldn’t get a pic without the risk of waking her, but she was dead asleep and cuddling a big old pile of books.  And yes, she had all of the fluffs, PorkChop Piggy was fully accounted for, but she was also cuddling books.

Here’s hoping she stays that way and turns out more of a bookworm and nerd like J and not a hellion like me.  I tease a bit, because I always had my nose in a book.  Problem was, I had my ears, eyes, and mind on shenanigans.  J, for her part, kept eyes, ears, thoughts, etc on the books.  She did get a few cute post climb pics also…. At least, I’m a fan.

Let’s go, Kiddo… we have 19 days left here.  We will be excited, anxious, sad, reminiscent, thoughtful, and a lot of other feelings as well.  Mumma and I are here for kisses, hugs, cuddles, cries, laughs, and even some tickles.  We love you and we will always be on your team.  Keep being brave, strong, bold, and 100% you!
