Producing a Feud

Most nights I cook.  Last month, August, I cooked 24 meals in the 31 days.  In the 7 days that I didn’t cook, we had left overs on 3 of those nights and that’s easy enough, but it still takes a little prep and time and readying and reheating of things and the like.  Most of the meals I make depend on Produce Lady at the Market. Produce Lady is part of my everyday routine, except for Sundays.  Produce Lady isn’t at the market on Sunday, so Saturday I need to plan and buy ahead.  Not a big deal.  After 2 years of doing this, I know the routine of some of the others in the market as well as I know my own.  Dinners are also dependent on them.  If I’m planning chicken with roasted potatoes and Produce Lady (PL from here on out for ease) is out of potatoes, well… I can’t make that and I need to shuck, jive, zig, and zag.  It’s usually not a big deal and I can make due or shift as needed.   The only bad thing about PL is that I have a runni...

Cut to apology

Grade 1 can be tough.  Sometimes, you are just over it.  We had that with Kiddo the other night.  She was doing her homework and it was getting late and she was partly tired, but also wanted to just get on with her night.  Mumma reading time, Dada video games.  Ya know… the good stuff. Well, Kiddo was over it and not wanting to work, but also not wanting to work any more.  She was just done.  So, we got a melt down.  She yelled at J and she “hated school and homework and all of it.”  I was at the sink and I calming told Kiddo to NOT yell at Mumma or me.  “Fine!  Then I’m going to my room.” J and I just reminded her not to slam her door.  “I won’t!!!”  She didn’t either.  Good job, Kiddo. Anyways, we hear her having herself a cry.  She’s just getting out all of the 6 year old feelings.  A few minutes later, we hear something from her room and go to look.  Under the door is this note: We circled th...

Kiddo at it again

Kiddo and J climbed yesterday and then had lunch together before coming home.  Aren't they sweet together.  They did a bunch of climbing, but Kiddo also wanted to do the Slack Line and J said that she held on, but gained confidence towards the end and was doing a step or two with no hand holding.  WOW!!!!  After that, in the afternoon, I have my lil sous chef in the kitchen to oversee dinner prep.  Then, of course, she wanted to do a Vlog of her own.  Enjoy!

Family Time

Last night we took the Kiddo out for a night of fun and she was going to get to roller-skate with both J and myself there.  She was thrilled.  Family time!!!!  And roller skating.  And Ice Cream.  And the Tuk.  What a great night. First, however, we (Kiddo and I) had important things to do.  See, Ratchet got the flu and it was bad.  Throwing up.  Juicy toots.  Fever!  Dr. Fix-It-Up was on the case with a whole contingent of nurses, as you can see.  Poor Ratchet also was lasered by Dr. Nefarious so he was also already in casts.  It was a BAD diagnosis.  Thankfully, the nursing staff all had their flu shots and they all were in their Personal Protection Gear. It had sprinkled a bit, so we needed to bring the umbrella with and, obviously , Kiddo needed to be the one to hold it.  Her only regret is that she couldn’t splash in all the puddles on the way. The plan was to go to Tops Club (local version of CostCo, ...
