I ate everything in the whole house.
Life with a 5 year old is fun. Funny. And sometimes brutally honest.
Today, I awoke to J and Kiddo in the living room doing the morning. Cereal and iPad time for Kiddo. Coffee for J. However, I was informed upon waking that we were out of cereal. When I asked how and why that happened, I was informed that someone woke up “starving” this morning and ate the remaining cereal in the house. “I ate everything in the whole house!” A few minutes later, upon finishing the crumbs of cereal and a few pieces of buttered toast, she asked if she should wash her hands, “Because they aren’t comfortable since they are all crumby.”
Needless to say, J and I had a hearty laugh at that.
Other news is that J didn’t get to see the concert the other night. She wasn’t feeling well, but that got worse as they were heading into town. J ended up coming back home and she looked awful. She ended up heading to bed and was up and down all night not feeling well. Looks like it was a minor case of food poisoning or something she ate that was not great. Either way, she stayed home Friday and rested more, I made chicken and potatoes for dinner and made sure she had enough Gatorade as well.
Before all that, however, Kiddo and I (not knowing J was sick) headed out to a McDonalds dinner. Kiddo was HYPED for the Dada night. It was a blast and Kiddo telling me about her day and just about life as she ate was fun as well. Just look at that face as she’s totally involved and absorbed in telling me about whatever it was that was on her mind at the time. It was a blast.
After that, we came home and did some Mo Willem books and read for a bit. A quick shower, since she was a paint monster as well. After that, it was video game time and she wanted to see a new game I got about Pirates and wanted to know how it worked and how to play. She also got to sail the ship for a while.
Other than that, we’ve just been chilling. Last night was slow and chill, J was able to just relax and not do much. Today is more of the same. Kiddo and I got to Tops for a few things, like more cereal and then to the market so I could get produce and Kiddo saw waffles and wanted those for lunch. J is feeling better, but we’re still going to have a light dinner to let her stomach chill again. It’ll be a mundane weekend, but that’s ok. It’s just what we all are needing.
Let’s go, Kiddo… Time to rest, play, love, and giggle; Especially over you eating everything in the house and your hands being all crumby. Mumma and Dada love you and we can’t wait to see what fun and silliness you bring us tomorrow.
