A wedding, an outbreak, and a swim

Image
Time to catch up with somethings.  I just realized that I completely forgot about our weekend and the big news from that. We had some nuptials. That’s right, Mixed Up Milkshake (M.U.M.) and Carmel got married.  I know what you’re thinking… A fuzzy rainbow unicorn marrying a dog that was born to two Lombaxes, no way that works.  They are just too different.   As you can see, the event went off without a hitch and don’t they just look so happy?   Kiddo was great as the event planner and caterer of the event.  They had berry and veggie stir fry for a main course and Red Velvet, Chocolate, caramel, and sprinkle cake.  They also made invites to the friends that were invited.  Her and J even typed them up on the computer.  Not only were they hand addressed, they were hand colored.   There was a little bad news from the weekend, however.  It seems that there was an outbreak of Rabies in Ranza and Poley, Snow, Ratchet, Rivet, an...

The light grows brighter

We are down to a month left.  This Saturday will be 4 weeks.   Time grows short, but that’s ok.  Our Bangkok Bananza will turn into a Taco Research summer and end with some Shanghai Shenanigans.  LOL.  The house is starting to get whittled down and Kiddo’s room is starting to look sparse as we start cutting down and moving items out.  Either people buying them or J transferring them to classroom, giving away, donating, or otherwise.  J has started her own cut down and keep it/leave it type planning. I’m last on that ship.  Most of what I have is coming with me.  About 25% of the clothes are a no go for me, but I know what those items are so that’s less than an hour work for me.  The real challenge is the kitchen. I have my knives and chef roll so that’s easy and mostly packed already from the move from 3 to 4.  The induction plate, one pot, air frier, etc are staying/being sold.  The challenge is keeping a food balance....

Climbing the Walls

Yesterday was Visakha Bucha Day, or Buddha Day, in Thailand.  That meant a day off for Kiddo and J.  I am still on the mend, so I was taking it easy, but it was nice to have the ladies around for the day. They, however, made plans with the Becksters to go climbing.   Not much to say about that, other than look at how dang cute they are! While they were climbing, I gave a call to Schmittah and we talked for an hour.  It was nice to chat and catch up a bit.  We’ve known each other for 20+ years now, so it’s just like that with us.  We can talk weekly or once a year and it just falls back into the old patter and pattern of friendship.  When Doc J was out to visit.  It just slips into the friendship and comes easy.   Ironic that as I write this my Spotify DJ Mix is playing the Joe Cocker version of With a Little Help From my Friends .  I’ll let that stand as is and just chalk it up to coincidence, the cosmos, and randomness.  I’...

Gut Punched

It’s been a weekend. Friday started with Kiddo going to school with J in the morning.  I still had to be awake and present to help J by keeping the Kiddoball rolling.  Clothes, hair, allergy meds, brush teeth, etc etc.   As you can see, Kiddo and J had a Mumma/Kiddo morning.  Some tea and peanut butter toast.  Kiddo has taken to a tea that J found.  An apple cinnamon tea.  Kiddo loves it and we just brew and steep as normal and then toss in an ice cube.  She is the cutest. Friday after school, Kiddo and I have made a mini-tradition of stopping at Plurn Dee for a fruit smoothie.  Kiddo has been digging on tengmo (watermelon) and not only did she use her Thai to order, she helped me with payment as well.  That was in part to me having my bag, her bag, an umbrella, and a few other items in hand.  Then it was home to much excitement.  See, Snow had won the Ranza Olympics.  We had to do a newspaper report on her accomplis...
