Mini Me

There are times when I refer to Kiddo as Mini Me, because she has a lot of my mannerisms and facial expressions.  She also looks a bit more like me and my side of the family than she does J.  Not that it matters much, but she does look a lot more like my sister Beaner when she was a kid than she does like J or Jesters.  She’s also chatty like I am.  J always tells her that she will need to find a partner like her, not like me, because J is a listener, where Kiddo and I are talkers.

The other morning, I knocked on her door and told her to get ready for school.  She asked the weather and I told her that it was going to be 26/27ish (85ishF) and sunny, so maybe light leggings and a shirt and we could pack a jumper or hoodie in her backpack incase the classroom was cold or incase she got a bit chilly.  She said ok and started getting dressed and I went into our bedroom and also grabbed something to wear that day.  Since I’m not a little Thai Girl and I don’t freeze if the temps are below 30C (93F) I grabbed a shirt and shorts to throw on.  Kiddo also decided to go with shorts and a tee, but liked that she could bring her yellow hoodie with her for when she “got cold.”  I was pulling on socks when she came out of her room.

Yup, that happened.  No, we didn’t coordinate that.  I had no idea what she would wear and she had no idea what I was wearing.  So, on top of being Mini Me, sometimes great minds think alike.

Before I go today, I have to mention the baseball season.  Great job winning the Central and beating the Cubs in the playoffs, Milwaukee. I would have loved to see the Brewers in the World Series, especially if Seattle can finish off Toronto sometime in the next two games.  That would have been a great story line.  I’m hopeful that the window hasn’t closed on the Brewers and that they can continue the success next season and put it together in the playoffs, but Yelich isn’t getting younger or healthier, the pitching staff will have some turn over and the young guys will need to step up and step in, and they still need a lot of help at 3rd and IF depth, plus consistent run support, and depth at Catcher and at the backend of the rotation.  That’s a lot to ask for in an offseason and from young talent.

Sigh…. If only they had gotten hot again in late Sept instead of cooling off and getting colder.  I’d love to join my RedSox, Giants, and Cubs fan friends in knowing the joys of winning a title, but that’ll just have to wait another year.  It was a streaky season, but fun and I only hope that the World Series title goes to the American League team this year.

Let’s go, Kiddo… Sometimes we think, act, and dress alike, but here’s hoping that soon we can cheer alike with a Milwaukee Brewers World Championship.  The weather is turning colder and winter is starting to creep a bit, so it’ll soon be time for long sleeves and pants and it’ll be a lot less likely that we dress alike again, but for now, let’s enjoy the fun coincidence and be matching Dada and Kiddo for a day.  Thanks for being my best little thing and the funnest and funniest person in my life.
