Soup-er rain and pretty flowers
The weather has been rainy and overcast and we’ve been feeling autumnal, and the fates have cursed us with illness as well.
Over the weekend, Kiddo was sniffly and sneezy Friday (It was a long weekend and day off, so she was home) and just run down. With the weather and air quality coupled with her allergies and no fever, we thought she just got a big bunch of pollen, etc and she was miserable with allergies. We cranked up her air purifier, gave her some extra allergy med (she usually gets a half dose, we gave her a full dose) and the next day she was better. By Sunday she wasn’t sneezing anything more than normal, so we wrote it off to bad air and bad allergies.
Monday, J complained she felt run down. Tuesday she was feeling worse. Wednesday was sniffling and sneezing and sounding plugged up and like she had a cold. Today, J took the day from work and has slept most of the day. I started feeling it yesterday and today is worse. Sniffling and run down.
Seems like we’ve got whatever rhinovirus that is cruising around BKK right now. Good news is, I can solution that heck outta that.
Our rice cooker is really a one pot. Kind of like a slow cooker/rice cooker/vegi steamer/all in one cooker type thing. So, since I had some chicken feet, I could Machiavelli a quick stock and get everything else I needed (carrots, celery, onion, tomato, and green beans) from the market. We had chicken in house.
I did want to get some good bread to go with that, so after walking Kiddo to school this morning, I swung over to Tops and got some bread. I also got some flowers to give us some life and color and pop. Besides, when we lived in Cali, I would get flowers for my ladies pretty regularly and we all liked the life and color and vibrance they gave to the house. I decided it was time to get some flowers and give us some pop.
It’s a rainy, overcast, not feeling well day, but we’ve got soup cooking, flowers in a vase, and each other. Plus some peppermint tea that J had in the house. It hit Kiddo for 2ish days. J is on day 2.5ish, I’ll say she’s in for a four day run. Which leaves me. I think, feeling how I feel today, I’ll have a slow weekend of not feeling 100%, but I’ve already got the soup made. Also, considering that I eat 0.3-0.4kg (2/3rds of a pound, approx) of fresh tengmo and saparot daily, I have a lot more vitamins A and C floating thru me, so that might help.
Let’s go, Kiddo… today is a rainy and slow day and Mumma and I don’t feel so good, but let’s just play and read and color for the next few days when you aren’t in school. Oh, and Saturday morning, we still need to play more Ratchet and Clank. We need to find out what Rivet is up too and what she’s going to do with Clank.
