Getting the wiggles out
Friday night ended well enough. Kiddo and I ended up getting pancakes and chicken bites at Plurn Dee for dinner. Well, she got that and we got a green Fanta (melon flavor?) from the coke slushee guy. Kiddo ate well and loved it, her tooth was feeling better and she was generally back to good.
Kiddo wanted to make a video.
Other than that, J had her thing and was home right about 19:30, so Kiddo got a full tuck in from both of us. While J was giving her a little extra time and love and I went over to Plurn Dee to get J and myself some Krakow. It was wonderfully spicy and delicious. We did have one get up and worry about the tooth, but that was quickly assuaged and we got to chat and adult and do, instead of an encore of Weeping Beauty.
Surprises kept coming on Saturday morning when we got to sleep in an extra 15 minutes as well. Kiddo was back to her normal self and proceeded to crush a pear, half an apple, and a bowl of cereal and that was before she ate half a waffle. That could feed me for a day. The night before, J and I game planned and we decided that Saturday should be our library day. Kiddo balked at this. She was burnt from the week and wanted a lazy day. We noped that. She needed to get out and do, not sit and stagnate all day. Besides that, ramen is an easy meal for her and her tooth, so that was an added bonus.
The library, as always, was a hit. So many new books and topics to be excited about. Lunch was also a hit. Ramen usually is. Besides that, before lunch Kiddo was bored and wanted to read. We let her pick a book and she flipped to the back cover to read about the other books in the series. What a reader she is!!!!!
We were all pretty lazy the rest of the day. We talked about maybe going to see KFP4, but we all weren’t really in the mood to do that. To go out. Be public. Rush. Be on a timeline. Not for us yesterday. So, instead of that, we did it at home. Popped across the street and got a margarita pizza and Kiddo has been into magic and wizards recently, so we put on Onward and had pizza night. It’s a bit difficult for Kiddo to munch with her front tooth, so we cut her pizza into little Kiddo sized chunks and she destroyed two slices. For reference, J and I can eat 3 slices each and be full. As for the movie… She watched the last 15 minutes of it on her knees on the floor at full attention. She was locked in.
Today, J needed to go to the clinic to get her Health Check for the China Visa. Kiddo and I had a Dada Morning. While I had coffee, Kiddo did some iPad, but then got bored of that and started doing some “Ranzan paperwork” that needed to be completed. The papers she is filling out were bad copies of the fingerprint paperwork that J needed to get done earlier this week. After that, she wanted to work on her book a bit and so we did. We got two pages done on Clucksters. It was riveting, I must say, watching her process, create, imagine, and just be in her world.
After that, we got to the pool for an hour and played there. It was, again, just spending time in KiddoLand. It was a blast and good to get to the pool. Not just for the fun and floats, but to see Kiddo fish around. She is a strong swimmer. I’m not saying she’s a prodigy or anything, but she is beyond capable. I wouldn’t send her into a pool alone, but I can be on the other side of the pool from her and not have to keep eyes on her 100%. Part of that is because she’s chatty and so she’s always playing or imagining at you and the other part is that she’s a bit of a show off. Watch this dive, look how long I can swim under the water, I’m going to do an underwater handstand, etc etc etc. In the course of an hour she talks about 300% more than AM Talk Radio. LOL
It’s been a good weekend. Busy. A lot of little twists and turns like J’s clinic visit or all of us just feeling lazy, but still wanting dinner and a movie. We’ve made it work and we’ve had a good time. Had a family weekend and had fun doing it.
Let’s go, Kiddo… we got to recharge this weekend and you are going to have some more videos coming to the blog soon. We’ve dealt with some changes and strangeness in the last week or so, but now that we are getting into the groove of the strangeness, all seems to be going a bit smoother. I’m excited to see how things are a week from now.
