Cheese please; a wild and wacky Friday night.

Last night, I had a Big Girl Friday Fun Night with just me and Kiddo.  J went out and got to adult and eat some cheeses.  This is a monthly event and I guess the whole thing is gear toward French cheeses, so French is spoken by a good 65% of those attending.  English as well.  Plus Thai and any other language people might speak at the event.  It looks amazing and it’s certainly something that I will need to talk to Doc J about because if we could take her and Mr E when they visit… Whoa Nelly!  Look out.












Kiddo and I did Ramen (her choice) and then hit the play place at the mall.  It was INSANE.  I didn’t get a lot of pics and vids, I got roped into jumping and playing.  Well, not roped in.  Kiddo asked and bounced and giggled and I just couldn’t help it.  Waking at 7:30am today and my legs remembered that I am 44 years old.  HAHA. 



However, after a night of fun and bouncing and playing and excitement, I was the first up.  Got coffee made and someone wandered out of her room.  Usually, she comes in at around 6:30am and we send her away for 20 minutes.  Today, we woke her, since the coffee making process roused her.


Good thing, because she had a 9am appointment to follow up with the doc about her allergies.  Dust mites!  So, we need to figure out how to get some anti-allergy bedding.  Not hard, but communicating the bed size is difficult.  I’m gonna measure in cm and see what I can find or get Nanny Beer to assist in that and help with sizing.


Other than that, it’s just a rainy and lazy day here.  I’m trying my hand at a Thai inspired Carnitas taco.  That’s pork to my gringo folks.  Made a pico to go with it.  J and I will have a spicy taco dinner tonight and yippee to that.


Otherwise, pics for the night.  Love the socks that I needed to buy to play.  I’m hoping to maybe find a shirt to go with it.  Talk about a great outfit for our dinner next month.  HAHA.  That and the night were great and just made me smile.  Kiddo too.  As you can see, Mini Me wanted to know why Dada puts one leg up on the escalator.  Because it’s comfortable for Dada to do that.  As you can see, she followed suit.  












Let’s go, Kiddo…. You know how to do backward slides now and how fun is that!!!!!

On being brave

I was laying in bed the other night and I was just awake and thinking.  I was thinking, specifically, about Kiddo and how brave she is in a lot of ways.  Moving across the world with J and I (not that she had much choice) was brave.  Quarantine.  Going to a school with mostly Thai kids.  Making friends.  Losing her tooth.  All of it.  She is so brave.   Even her attitude.  That want to see more of the world and to explore it.  Her willingness to go to markets with J and myself and eat bugs.  Last summer in Vietnam and just trying pho or banh mi while we walked down a street.  Getting lost with J in the rain in HCMC and having that adventure.  Her excitement to travel 30,000 miles this summer.  Her excitement for Shanghai and wondering how it will be different, better/worse, and what kind of ‘interesting and fun things to do” once we get there.   As I lay in the dark being a proud papa, I couldn’t help b...

A weekend in the life of Kiddo

We have our LA and SF trips set.  We are going to find some time this week to plan and set the Wisco trip and then the Mexico trip, but one step at a time.  J is looking at properties in MX for us and we will book that all soon.  Then, it’s just tying up life here, selling off our stuff, packing and getting ready to move and then it’s just airplanes, airports, and adventures. It’s not all busy work though.  We are still having some fun.   J needed to go to school on Saturday to drop off some of Kiddo’s stuff that she is repurposing to her classroom.  Puzzles and books that Kiddo aged out of and what better place than a Kindergarten classroom.  Perfect solution and better than trudging them into town and getting next to nothing selling them for credit only to acquire more books to drag around the world.  New books can wait for Shanghai, if at all, because J and I are on Kindles and Kiddo is mainly on the iPad and Epic for her books.  The l...
