Funner Summer

Summer begins and that means a lot more J in my day.  It’s only been the one day, so not much to say about more J, but generally speaking, that is a good thing.  Especially for Kiddo, since she gets some Mumma Mondays.  They are going to do learning.  And playing.  And just Mumma and Kiddo stuff.  Plus, they have started a To-Do list…. And don’t call it a checklist, “it’s a To-Do list with checks on the done ones, Dada!”

They did get out and have some fun yesterday at Decathlon.  Kiddo needed some bouncing time and they have a track for scooters and bikes and the like.  So, Kiddo could burn off energy and have some fun and bounce and just live her best Kiddo life.  They also went to Kidzoona for playing there.  As you can see, Kiddo was all about climbing the walls.  Of course, that was followed up with an ice cream treat and why wouldn’t it be?  Mint Chocolate Chip.

The real fun was at home though.  Kiddo was being my taste tester sous chef while I made a salad and did dinner prep, but Kiddo taste tested while her and J were decorating letters.  They are going to do the whole alphabet and once completed, we are going to stash them away for safe keeping until we move.  Then, we are going to decorate.  WITH LETTERS!!!!!  Yeah, she lost a whole gaggle of bananas at the thought of that.  Kiddo did, however, need to decorate herself as well.  Following that up, puzzle fun!  I mean, can it even be beat?  Kiddo didn’t think so.  At bed time last night, J was seeing a friend, so it was a Kiddo/Dada tuck in.  As we were tucking and winding down, Kiddo was just talking.  Remember the letters and when I was taste tester?  That was fun, but the puzzle was fun too.  Maybe tomorrow we can do another…. WITH Dada.  Or you can see just Kiddo do it because I know puzzles and I’m reeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllly good at them.  You should see it.  It take me, like, 88 seconds to do a whole puzzle.

Wow, 88 seconds.

Weeeeellllllllll, maybe it’s eleven hundred twenty two seconds plus 88 for me.

Oh, you know time now?

No, just counting and puzzles.

She then proceeded to count to 30.

Being 5 sure is hard work.

The garden is working out for us and that’s been a lot of fun with her as well.  The beans sprouted.  We have another little sprout that might be a hot pepper seed that Kiddo and I planted, but it could just as easily be a random seed she put there.  The radishes are happy, if not a little crowded, but we’re gonna let it play and see what lesson we learn from it.

Otherwise, it’s a Dada/Kiddo lunch date today because of the cleaning staff.  Mumma has been invited, but only to the first one.  After that, it’s only Kiddo and Dada.  It’ll be nice to have some backup at the mall today, especially since we need to get to Tops and get some groceries.  Mostly dried and jarred things (Peanut butter, olive oil, pancake mix, you get the idea) but it’ll be nice to just have a second set of eyes and hands.  Someone (not naming names) can get a little rambunctious.  I was always told by my mother and grandmother how I was such a good shopper when I was a younger kid, that I was patient and would just kind of daydream and look around the world while they shopped.  Kiddo is the exact opposite.  When are we leaving, can I push, what’s that, are we done, can I get that, can I touch this, I’m bored, etc etc.  So, J in the house for that will just make it that much easier.

Tomorrow, I have a date.  This cute girl I know.  Named J.  She’s pretty rad.  And I have it on good authority she smooches on lunch dates!  HAHA. Tomorrow, we have Beer like usual and J and I are taking the time to adult and lunch date.  The little noodle hut down the road.  Then we are thinking maybe going and getting a Thai massage together.  Because Beer recommended a spot and I gave them a try a few weeks ago for a foot massage.  Then I tried Thai and loved it more.  Then, on Sunday, I woke up after sleeping on my side and my shoulder and neck were JACKED up.  I could hardly turn my head.  So, let’s try the new place for a head, neck, shoulder massage.  Oh.  My.  God!!!!!  These folks are all magic.  I’ve not yet had a bad experience.  So, I wanna show J and after a long hard year of international teaching and everything that has gone into the last year of our lives with applying, moving, etc etc… J deservers a good massage.

Before I go, a little housekeeping to do.

With the most recent SCOTUS and all that.  I’m gonna step back a little.  It would be very easy for me to rant and rail here daily.  But, this blog is about us and our adventures.  Yeah, our (mine especially) opinions and thoughts on the world and decisions like the latest will get some words and notes and thoughts, we do want to keep it primarily focused on this adventure and Kiddo.  So, between that and summer, I’m stepping back a bit.  Maybe J will have more time and she can sound off and post some things, but there may be weeks where I am silent.  Nothing is wrong, just stepping back rather than ranting.

Just wanted to give y’all a heads up in the case that I go 7-10 days between posts.  We’re fine, just doing family and fun and life and all that.

Let’s go, Kiddo…. Summer time fun, because in about 7 weeks, you get to experience school and weekends and free time are about to have a whole new meaning to you.
