Songbird Reigns
Rainy seasons is here. And it’s only going to get worse from here. I couldn’t imagine rain like this and then it happens. This was only at about 65%, according to locals and what I’ve read. That’s nuts. It can get twice this bad?
That doesn’t stop Kiddo from taking advantage of the nice weather and the heat to just lounge out and do her best Kiddo daily. Besides that, isn’t she just the cutest darned thing!!!! Seriously though, make her 20 in this pic and it could be a pop album cover. Wouldn’t surprise me, since she is a little songbird. Miss Mabel used to call her that as well. Kiddo just lives her life in song and music. She constantly hums or sings. I’m very much the same. Plus, on Dada days, we usually start with some baseball and life and chatting and all that and then play. Music is on for 75% of our day. To the point that she knows my moods and playlists. Cooking playlists is my most flexible playlist, as it updates or changes on a 17-20 day cycle, but in that time, I’ll have listened to that playlist 15-30 times, depending on chores, cooking and meals, and Kiddo wanting to hear it. So, it updates often and Kiddo knows that and will suggest additions from other playlists (I like this song, Dada. Add it to the cooking playlist so we can sing it while cooking) or just ask for the playlist as is. (Let’s do cooking playlist. We got good songs on it now, Dada). Note the WE there. She considers herself a cook/chef as well.
On top of that, Kiddo got some new pants. Again…. Darned cute!!!!!
Speaking of cute, sleeping beauty. You don’t want to wake her, you just want to watch her sleep.
And then you get lil miss posing and wanting pics at the mall with the big stuffed bear. Songbird Diva might have to be her new nickname. HAHA
An update on the work being done on the Soi. Moving right along and pouring the other half of the new road. Maybe I’m too used to CA construction timelines. Because in CA, just the environmental studies and then lawsuits about those studies then the seismic studies, budget, bidding, allocation of fund, bid acceptance, lawsuits over all that, new environmental studies, endangered species impact study, more lawsuits, and finally construction… Most of the time I’m used to it taking approx 30-40 YEARS for each foot of new building. HAHA. Yes, I’m being facetious, but seriously, in CA, this one stretch of road probably would have taken a year and counting the demolition work and clearing rubble, sewage and drainage, tree and vegetation removal, and all the other work done; I privately guessed it would take 2 years. That’s a CA timeline. BKK timeline is ASAP. Stuff gets DONE!
We are three weeks shy of being in BKK for a year. About 5 weeks shy of our first day out of Quarantine. Part of me feels that we’ve been here for 5 minutes and it all just races by. Other parts of me feel like it’s been years that we’ve been here; that each day took a week of effort. Guess that’s the Expat lifestyle…. Or as we like to call it, life for us from now on.
Let’s go, Kiddo…. One year down, another 12-15 to go, depending on you, life, uni acceptance, etc. We love you and keep doing great. We will steer this ship called life in whatever direction you lead. Don’t be afraid to keep exploring new things.
