Losing it

J and I are starting the process of booking and finalizing a bunch of things here.  Talk about a jigsaw puzzle of moving pieces.  We did tick LA off the list last night, so that’s one down… about 8 trillion pieces to go.

However, the excitement is starting to kick in.  Beyond that, we land in LA and get to spend five days bumping around and finding tacos, pizza, burgers, etc.  We will certainly Re-Americanize ourselves with our diet that first week back.  In N Out is near the top of the list.  Otherwise, we will be near the USC Campus and the museums and parks there.  Near Korea town and Chinatown in LA, so again, fun and food options.  Food prices will probably be a sticker shock, but we also hope to spend most of our time eating at little mom/pop shops and the local places.

LA would be good, but The Bay will be better for us to try to eat Thai.  THAT will be an experience after the last three years.  Especially if we walk in knowing some Thai and customs.  I’m sure we’ll eat off the family or secret Thai people only menu.  I know Schmittah has some love in his heart for Pad Thai, so maybe we can convince him to have a Thai meal with us and see what we can find or hook him up with.

As for GB, that will be what it is.  We’ll be with family, so we will eat at home and cook some.  I’m looking forward to that as well.  Even if it’s just dogs and burgers or brats and sausages.  American cookout food will be a unique treat.  If I can find some good looking steak and potatoes and have a steak and baked potato I will be in heaven.

As for moving pieces, we have one less to deal with as of now.

I think that sums things up perfectly.  Not much more to say.

She was hesitant and scared of having Mumma pull her tooth, but she was very brave.  Kiddo had just brushed and was complaining that her tooth was just attached by a string and she was scared that she would lose it in her sleep and swallow it and then the ToothFairy wouldn’t have a tooth to take.  So, we plucked it out her head.  Kiddo was beyond giddy, but even in that excitement she stayed in bed and didn’t stay up waiting for the ToothFairy.

I’d have preferred for the TF to bring her something like a book or something more tangible than money, but with us moving in less than 100 days, I think the TF knows that the less we have to pack the better it will be for all.  Maybe once we get to Shanghai and settle the TF can bring items like books or educational things instead of cash.  Some cash will be cool, though.  Kiddo can have some USD, THB, and RMB.  Oh, and she has some Vietnamese Dong.  We can also get her some Mexican pesos.

That’s the summery and catch up.  What’s to come next… I can’t even begin to imagine it.  4 years ago, I wouldn’t have believed we’d be here and doing this.  4 days ago, Kiddo had a full mouth of teeth.  Things will happen and we will have adventures.

Let’s go, Kiddo…. You took a big step last night when you lost your first tooth and you were very brave and awesome.  We can’t wait to see what comes out next and what kind of Jack-o-Lantern smile you have in a few months.  Keep growing and being you because it’s awesome to watch.

PS. Video glitched and freezes for about 2 seconds about 1/3rd thru.  She's 6.  I can' just call cut and go again, so we let it play.  Sorry aboot that.
